# All Saints, Walsoken

All Saints is a Grade I parish church on Church Road, Walsoken, on the edge of Wisbech, in the Diocese of Ely. Although much of the civil parish now lies in Cambridgeshire, the church itself remains in Norfolk.

## Overview

Historic England records a parish church with late-twelfth-century nave and chancel, a mid-thirteenth-century west tower, aisles remodelled in the fourteenth century, and further fifteenth-century alterations. Fabric is rendered or cemented ashlar with lead roofs. The four-stage tower has polygonal clasping buttresses and tiers of blank pointed arcading; the round-arched west door has deeply undercut mouldings on three orders of shafts with stiff-leaf capitals, much restored in the nineteenth century. An octagonal spire has one tier of gabled lucarnes.

The interior is noted for rich late-Norman arcades with zigzag mouldings and a chancel on banded carved shafts. The parish council describes Christian worship on the site for more than 850 years and a font dated 1544. A churchyard cross base and several memorials are separately listed Grade II. The church stands among orchards about a mile north-east of Wisbech.
