All Saints, Thorganby

All Saints is a Grade II parish church at Thorganby in the Lincolnshire Wolds, in the Diocese of Lincoln.

Overview

Historic England records a thirteenth-century parish church mostly rebuilt around 1900. The fabric is coursed ironstone rubble with limestone ashlar dressings and some red brick, under slate roofs with stone-coped gables. The plan has a west bellcote, nave with north aisle, and a rectangular chancel with boiler house and north vestry.

The listing retains an early thirteenth-century three-bay north arcade of double-chamfered pointed arches on round piers, a thirteenth-century chancel arch, a late thirteenth-century three-light south window with notable tracery, and a thirteenth-century octagonal stone font. The nave roof and chancel ceiling are of about 1900. Other fittings include a mid-eighteenth-century altar rail, eight reused sixteenth-century bench ends, an eighteenth-century hatchment over the south door, and twentieth-century pews, pulpit and lectern.
