# All Saints, Kirtling

All Saints is a Grade I parish church on Kirtling Road (Newmarket Road), Kirtling, Cambridgeshire, in the Diocese of Ely and the Cheveley Group.

## Overview

Historic England lists a parish church with a twelfth-century south-west nave wall, three-bay south arcade and a fine Norman south doorway; an early thirteenth-century chancel with blocked lancets; a fifteenth-century west tower, north arcade and aisle, transept chapel and south aisle; and a mid-sixteenth-century north memorial chapel. The north aisle was rebuilt in 1982; the south aisle has eighteenth-century windows. Walls are flint and pebble rubble with limestone and clunch dressings, partly plastered, with a red-brick chapel and plain-tile and pantile roofs.

The three-stage tower has a plain parapet and angle buttresses. The south doorway has patterned shafts, a chevron-and-billet arch and a carved tympanum. The Cheveley Group notes that the earliest surviving features are Norman and that a church here in the Anglo-Saxon period is probable. The church is open during the day.
