# All Saints, Granby

All Saints is the Grade I parish church of Granby, Nottinghamshire, on Sutton Lane in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, the oldest surviving building in the village.

## Overview

Historic England records a church on a pre-Conquest site, with twelfth-century fragments, predominantly thirteenth- and fourteenth-century fabric, reduced in size and restored about 1777 and restored again in 1888. It is built of thinly coursed rubble with slate roofs. The plan is a west tower, three-bay nave with north and south porches, and chancel.

The square four-stage tower has clasping buttresses, a west lancet, two small round-headed Norman windows in the second stage, Y-tracery bell-openings, and a Perpendicular crenellated top with gargoyles and pinnacles. A tablet on the tower records the 1777 repairs. The thirteenth-century Early English south doorway sits within a 1958 porch. The listing notes a fourteenth-century north arcade now in the north wall (the aisle having been demolished), a tower arch of about 1250, a thirteenth-century chancel arch, an oak pulpit dated 1629, and poppy-head bench ends.
