All Saints, Collingham

All Saints on Low Street, Collingham, Nottinghamshire, is a Grade I parish church in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, the former North Collingham church of a village that also has St John the Baptist.

Overview

Historic England lists a parish church of the twelfth to nineteenth centuries in coursed blue lias rubble with ashlar plinths, buttresses, organ chamber and dressings, a rendered tower, and leaded and stone-slab roofs. The plan is west tower, nave, chancel, north and south aisles, north and south porches, organ chamber and vestry. The two-stage west tower has a battlemented parapet with four crocketed pinnacles. The north porch is thirteenth-century, with a three-bay vaulted roof. Thirteenth-century nave arcades of three bays have clustered piers: waterleaf and stiff-leaf capitals to the north, filleted shafts and dogtooth imposts to the south. A fourteenth-century double piscina sits in the south aisle. The chancel retains a fifteenth-century low-pitched roof with roll-and-cove moulded timbers. The font has a plain octagonal bowl on four octagonal columns and a seventeenth-century panelled timber cover.
