The church is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester. The present building replaced two previous churches and was consecrated in 1900. The church is constructed with red ashlar sandstone and features a west tower, a six-bay nave, a chancel with a clerestory, north and south aisles, and porches. The interior includes a baptistery and a north aisle with an organ loft and vestry.
The church is considered an example of Bodley’s mature style. The adjacent Old Churchyard is the burial site for the Dukes of Westminster.
